New flash

I got a new flash for my camera and the other night I was playing around with it.  The bursts of light naturally attracted the attention of my curious two year old.  Miles would giggle and yell "ouch!" every time the flash went off.  Not sure why he said ouch...silly kid.  
In the midst of all his giggles I caught this perfect cheesy smile:

Isn't Miles just such a beautiful boy? I mean, I know he's a boy and I should say handsome...which he is. But he is BEAUTIFUL.

Found

I have caught something.

It's all consuming and makes my heart race.

I find myself nervously bouncing my knees even as I write,

thinking of this thing that has captured me.

It feels like I have {finally} found myself amidst this fever.

Found the self that was hidden for so many years under painful scabs

of infertility and childlessness; under grief and pain.

That self who has finally broken free from the shadows

and let me know of her existence.

This fever that has now encapsulated me was brought by this new self.

This new self that I love;

for she found me.

I've been working on our adoption blog and if you haven't checked it out as of late...you might want to hop on over and take a look!

Also, Nathan and I tried to take family pictures last night.  The trick??  It was just us.  As in, use a tripod, set the timer, run and hope you make it in the shot...just us.  Some actually turned out ok.  I love Nathan's varying looks of amusement.  Love that guy.
