Oh, I'm good...

Nathan and I went to the grocery store last night and I tried out my first 'Coupon Shop'.  I got some info from my friend Kara and I searched and clipped and printed and here's how I did:

What I bought:

4 bags of Malt O Meal cereal

4 boxes of Nature Valley granola bars 

4 boxes of El Paso taco shells (the ones with 6 soft and 6 hard)

2 taco seasoning packets

2 tubs of Betty Crocker Frosting

10 Gallons of water (for our water cooler)

2.5lbs of red seedless grapes

Scrubby brush (for hubby when he washes dishes)

1 package of Hershey's Dark Chocolate Bliss

How much do you think that cost us??  $70?  $50?  Not even close...

It would have been less, but the scrubby thing was $4.49 and the water was $4.10 and we had no coupons for either of those. 

I am so excited for my new hobby :)

Happiest Place on Earth

I am SOOOOO excited - on Thursday I am going to The Happiest Place on Earth!!! Disneyworld you say?? Nope. Disneyland you jest?? Nope.

Now for those of you unfortunate enough to have never been humbled by the wonderful awesomeness that is DSW, let me give you a glimpse into heaven on earth:

SHOES!!!

Shoes as far as the eye can see... in EVERY color and style... oh, I think I may just faint. And to go with all these fabulous shoes, what could be better than:

A new DSW just opened not far from here (well, over an hour, but for shoes, it is SO worth it!) and we are going on Thursday.

Thanksgiving??

I hope everyone had a nice holiday...I was reading a bit in the New York Times this morning and read a little editorial blurb that got me thinking...

Did you notice how this year some of the stores were open ON Thanksgiving?!? There were also pictures of people camping out before the big sales...and the author (can't remember the name, sorry) pointed out that we have become a consumer driven economy...we study the day after thanksgiving ads more than a political candidate's platform...in a country that esteems itself on Freedom...we should do more to ensure that those freedoms continue...

...wouldn't it be cool if people were camping out at voting stations the night before elections because they were so excited to vote?
