So I have been reading/watching all the stuff online about 9/11 today. A couple thoughts:
1 - Why must the slogan be 'We will never forget'? Aren't we taught to forgive and forget?
2 - To all of you non-conspiracy folk, just answer me this: Suppose you are a Secret Service Agent. If after the planes hit the towers and it was obvious that there was a hijacking situation in progress and there were MULTIPLE aircraft still unaccounted for, why would you leave the President where he is (the location was made public through press releases sent the day before...so would-be hijackers would have known EXACTLY where Bushie was) instead of getting him to a secure location? Wanna know what I think? No, well I'm going to tell you anyway. You would have gotten Bushie to a safe place UNLESS you KNEW he was out of danger...and how would you know that? Because certain cronies (yet to be identified) had made it clear that Bushie was safe reading with the kids...no planes were coming from him.
Your thoughts?

I hope you feel better WAY soon!
My first thought is this...If you are a terrorist and trying to pull of this mulit-faceted plan, how in the world would you know where the president would be months in advance when you need to plan where and when to inflict the damage? It would be near impossible.
Also, if I remember correctly, when everything did start happening, Bush was whisked away on a plane and was hovering above the US for several hours. Obviously, they thought that he was in danger and thus were protecting him even if in a delayed manner.
As for conspiracy theories...this one doesn't work for me-sorry.
This is actually from Ryann's husband Terry.
There's nothing like a good conspiracy to get people thinking, but to espouse certain conspiracies is just hurtful and I think very wrong. Conspiracies that middle eastern hate groups put out that the holocost never happened . . . in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary - Yet millions believe it simply because they are conditioned to believe it.
The 9/11 conspiracies are of the same pernicious and hurtful type. It makes me ill thinking that there are so many unenlightened people so willing to believe this utter nonsense. And that is what it is. Nonsense. these hateful conspiracies are based on conjecture, lies, and uneducated thoery. ALL of the truly "damning" evidence that these 9/11 theorists have put out has been debunked.
These harmful conspiracies are the most hateful forms of gossip. By espousing them, you bring several great peoples character into question.
I implore anybody who is questioning wether or not 9/11 actually happened how it happened to access the following websites and take the time to educate themselves on the realities.

I think the idea is that we never forget so history will not repeat itself through complacency on our part. From now on we must be eternally vigilant to protect ourselves.
And what Ryann and Terry said. I especially love the conspiracy theories that say the Pentagon was never hit with an aircraft--despite security camera footage showing the plane actually entering the side of the building and exploding and the mysterious disappearance of an entire aircraft full of men, women, and children. Geniuses at work, am I right?
The idea that Bush was in on 9/11 is the most embarrassingly idiotic idea of all time. Not only is it a dispicable thought, but ludacrous to boot. I hate the man too, but you honestly think he possess the brains to pull something like that off? Neither do I.
I am not uneducated enough to think that you can believe everything you read/see on the internet. I have read some of the pieces of conspiracies and thought 'that's absurd'. I don't think there were controlled explosives to bring down the 2 towers, I don't think there is an island somewhere full of people from the planes. I saw with my own eyes one of the planes hit.
I don't believe that 9-11 never happened.
9-11 is very real for us. Nathan has a cousin whose husband died in the Pentagon. He is dead, he is not living a second life on a secluded beach somewhere.
I believe that there is more to the story than the government is telling us. And, yes I know that some of the info is 'classified' for national security reasons and so we will never hear about it, but I think if anyone looks at this event and takes every word spoken by Bush and Cheney and Rumsfeld to be gospel truth, they are the uneducated, following their leaders with blind faith.
Ryann - he wasn't wisked away quickly. He was told of the second plane and he sat there for almost 10 more minutes. (which isn't long, but is forever when citizens of the country you are entrusted to protect are in mortal danger)
Terry - I respect your opinion, but if I can quote you: It makes me ill thinking that there are so many unenlightened people so willing to believe this utter nonsense. I feel EXACTLY the same way about people who believe there is no way our government had a role (however small) in the attacks.
Abby - there has NEVER been a video released of the plane hitting the pentagon. This all we've got:

The 'plane' can be seen at 1:27, then there is a large explosion. The Pentagon is one of the most secure buildings in the WORLD. There are lots of security cameras in the vicinity of the building - DOT cameras on the higway, hotel security cameras, etc. How come NONE of them have ever shown the acutal plane hitting the building? I don't know the answer, but I would suspect that the tapes would show something incriminating - maybe something as simple as the plane already on fire, proving it had been shot down...or maybe there was no plane.
There is also this:

Although I'm not sure where this camera is in relation to the side of the building that got hit...maybe it would be impossible to have seen the plane from this angle.
What about this:

I know people confuse memories all the time, but with something so distinct and so horrible, you would think the memory would be seared in your mind...it is in mine. I can tell you EXACTLY what I was doing when I saw the second plane hit. I was in the break room of Convergy's, watching the live news coverage. I remember going to my Sociology class a few hours later and our professor cancelling class for the day. I can also remember playing the piano in the Sky Room (university restaurant) during lunch that day and having a woman come up to me saying what a great comfort the music was to her.
I am not saying I know what happened that day - I just believe deep down that there is more to the story. I have read the debunking websites, but they actually raised more questions. I'm not saying our government planned it all (especially Bush, because that man is too stupid to plan a trip to the bathroom by himself), maybe they heard about a plot and just chose not to act - thinking it wasn't real...and are now too chicken to admit to the public the consequences of their inaction.
I believe that when we get to the other side we will be stunned to learn of the things our government did behind our backs.
That was the video released by the Pentagon to dispel the rumors that it had never been hit but had been blown up by some truck bomb or whatever. That is Pentagon security camera footage you're looking at, not the 7-11 across the street.
I know precisely how well guarded the Pentagon is. I worked in the Pentagon for some time, if you recall. Fun fact: I even dated one of its scary-crazy security guards for a time!
Simply claiming, "No YOU'RE the uneducated one!" simply because someone doesn't buy your version of events--a version which is not only difficult to believe on any level, but one which can never be proven--is going a tad too far, don't you think? It screams frustration and desperation. Instead of sounding reasonable and informed yourself you come off sounding like a knee-jerk liberal whackjob with a grudge. So let's calm down and take this slowly. You're suggesting that the "plane" in the surveillance footage is actually a cruise missile? Fired by our government into the Pentagon? From what, exactly? If explosives didn't take down the twin towers--mostly because you saw THAT with your own two eyes so that part couldn't possibly have been faked--and that Flt. 93 was proven to be on its way to D.C., why is it so incredibly difficult to believe that Flt. 77, which actually existed, was documented as having changed course and heading straight for DC, and eye witnesses watched a passenger aircraft circle the Pentagon before coming back around low enough to actually strike it, really happened? Simply because you weren't there to see it yourself? As far as I'm aware, there is only one video showing the first plane hitting the WTC, too. Does that mean that the video was faked? Hell, the second news videos could have been faked as well, right? If I recall, youtube nutjobs out there tried to prove that no planes ever hit the WTC and what we saw were missiles. Couldn't that also be so? And couldn't it also be possible that I am the love child of JFK and Jimmy Hoffa while they honeymooned in Area 51 where they faked the Lunar Landing?
I do not believe everything my government tells me, mostly because I'm not retarded. I don't believe we have all the information about 9/11 and that we probably never will. Given that we still don't even know everything about the attack on Pearl Harbor suggests that some things will always be deemed too classified to release. For the record, I also don't believe that every citizen has his head on straight in this country. I have met more than my share of crazies. Just because a conspiracy theory exists does not make it so. It may sound exciting, especially if you just saw it aired on "X-Files," but not all reality is that fantastic. Sure, anything is possible. It's possible that Bush is a gay android who eats kittens for breakfast. Likely? I'm gonna go ahead and say no.
I have given considerable thought to every conspiracy theory out there regarding 9/11. Your angle has not been the first time I've heard any of this by any means. Over the past seven years I have looked at every bit of evidence available to the public and I have still come to the conclusion that people are trying to see something that simply isn't there. They want to be famous for "outing" the government and become a hero for saving us all after the fact. These same people walk around their double-wides with tinfoil hats trying to keep the government from reading their brilliant thoughts. It would be a relief to know you're not one of them.
And a note of clarification: the Pentagon is not the most well guarded building in the world. CIA headquarters at Langley is.
Yeah, and what Abby said.
So, I'm not commenting on your comments. Sorry! :) But, I am giving you a blog award! Go over to my blog to get it!
