Da Bulls

Last week Nathan and I were the lucky recipients of two free Bulls tickets...thanks to one of our new friends.  Gotta love friends with hook-ups.  :)

The United Center is HUGE.  We've been to games in the Delta Center (Sorry...it will take a long time to get used to calling it the Energy Solutions Arena) and the Boston Garden (where the Boston Celtics play) so NBA arenas aren't a new thing...for some reason the United Center just seemed so huge.

We tried to snap a good picture of us...either we need to invest in some longer arms or overcome our fear of asking strangers to take our picture.  Ignore my pasty white skin...that's the curse of working 50 hours a week in a room with no windows.   (Speaking of that...only 6 working days left!!)

It was kinda surreal to see three former Jazz players in Red and Black...but good to see them nonetheless.  Korver even hit a few beautiful 3's just for us.  Ok, maybe not just for us, but we can dream, right?  It was kinda cool to see the retired jerseys hanging...Michael Jordan...and Jerry Sloan especially.  But seeing those championship banners hurt.  Bad.  Especially the 1996 one...that was stolen from us.  I saw it with my own eyes.

We enjoyed our first Bulls game and hopefully we'll see the United Center again soon...maybe this time they'll be playing the Jazz!

Take me out to the ball game

This past Wednesday it was Navy Day at US Cellular Field. We got hooked up with free tickets so we made the trek down to 35th Street to watch them play. I know that because of where we live we should support the other team in town...but I still had a great time cheering on the Sox. I even bought a hat. :) I'm sure this will not be our last visit to support the Sox. (even if it is the wrong color of sox...white, not red....ah well)

Pretty good seats for getting them free, eh?

Are we just not the two most adorable people you've ever seen? Aren't we? Huh? Huh?

This should be interesting...

It seems that Mr. Favre is now going to be in our division. I think this will be good...we will now have tougher teams to play to prepare us for the offseason. I mean, our division is us, the Dolphins, the Jets and the Bills so in the past couple years we haven't had too much trouble there...sorry, harsh but true. I am excited about the two great quarterback showdowns we'll get this season, but I am also interested to see if the Madden Cover Curse is true...only time will tell. Bring on Football season!! (Well, Patriots pre-season starts today...GO PATS!!)

I think I might have to cry myself to sleep tonight on my HUGE pillow...

For those of you who weren't watching the Super Bowl, it may pain you to learn that my beloved New England Patriots lost to the New York Giants. This is one of the biggest upsets in Super Bowl history and I am sad to have been on the 'upset' part of that upset. I did actually cry...but not until I got in the car to drive home...I didn't want to cry in front of the fam and give them reason to make fun of me. I haven't decided if I am going to wear my Tom Brady jersey to work tomorrow or if I should wear all black.

I do have more to post as this was an eventful weekend for us...anniversary...weekend away...runaway dog...superbowl party...hurt dog... I am headed to bed now but will hopefully get a post up tomorrow with pics and all.

Man oh man

So in case you haven't noticed...I am a bit of a Patriots fan... Nathan and I went down to my grandparent's house to watch the game last night (they have a monster TV - and provide some pretty good company) and the PATS WON...not that I doubted it would happen or a split second...
Here are some shots from the game (photos from the Boston Globe)

My favorite - Tom Brady (12).... man is he easy on the eyes...

Maroney on one of his many runs...such an impressive runner.

This was probably the BEST play of the game...Brady set up a fake and it was AWESOME the defensive line all fell for it and then he threw to the end-zone...touchdown Pats!

Harrison (37) picked off a throw - which is always nice...he is celebrating here with Moss (81) who only caught one ball the whole game - it is amazing how this team just shifts its play to another ready/willing player if one of their guys is taken out with double and triple coverage.

Wait...is that a SMILE from Belichick??? No way...

The Chargers won (ha ha take that stupid Peyton Manning...) and they will be visiting Foxboro next Sunday for the AFC Championship Game - good times!

Photo overload

This is me Christmas morning...we drove down to my parent's house...it had snowed a lot the night before - making for a beautiful setting to show off my Tom Brady jersey :)

More of the drive through the canyon.

Frankie LOVES to help...I am sauteeing the peppers and onions for the stuffed pasta shells (below)

Don't these look excellent?? I LOVE stuffed pasta shells...in fact I think I might go eat some of the left-overs right now :)

Here's a better photo of the hair...the one below you can see the red-violet a bit better...still not the best though.

Guess What??

The Pats just one their last regular season game and now are 16-0! They also set records for most points scored in a season and Brady and Moss set individual records...

Man I LOVE the Pats!

Arizona here we come!!

...lucky...lucky...lucky...

Not sure how many of you caught the Chargers-Patriots game on Sunday...but if you did you would have to agree that the Pats are LUCKY...they really should have lost that game...BUT, then you get down in the 4th quarter, behind in the score and you got Ice Man on your team so I shouldn't have worried...but I did, and Nathan didn't think they could pull it out... but I had faith in my guys and they did it...now it is on to the Colts this Sunday...this could be interesting...seeing as how the only points the Colts scored in their game on Sunday came from their kicker Adam V...who used to play for the Pats...that could make for some fun game chemistry on Sunday...

The new job is going ok, it is always a bit of an adjustment when you start something new...and I am ok. I cried earlier this week...I just felt so useless...I used to have a job where I was important, I planned big events, did financial stuff....HUNDREDS of people knew who I was...now I am just the 'Front Desk'....I feel like I got demoted :(

I am excited about a new gadget I recently acquired...it is the COOLEST candle warmer...it is a little lamp and it heats from the top...so you don't have to wait for the entire candle to melt before you get the fragrance...you get it within minutes! Here is a picture of it:
It is amazing what a little emotional shopping can do for your moods.

PATS WIN!!

37-16 over the Jets.... Whoo Hoo...

Now we just have to beat the Chargers (unless the Giants win the Eagles, then it will be the Saints) next week....

GO PATS!

Lonliness

Well work is going ok...I get to start at the jewelry store on Thursday so that should be fun...otherwise things are slowly moving along...

We went to a baseball game last night with Nathan's best friend and his wife...it was SO fun...His friend is such a heckler....makes fun of everyone and I really think it helps...I swear more than once you could tell he was for sure 'in their heads'...needless to say we laughed pretty hard...so my abs got quite the workout and are a tiny bit sore today.

I am still feeling a bit lonely here, not that I don't know people, I just don't feel like I have a close friend close by (geographically)...I have 3 or 4 that I could call at any time and talk to, but sometimes it just isn't the same, ya know?? One of my super-close friends said there might be a chance she could move closer to me, which would be awesome...but I'm not holding my breath, as it isn't 100% in their control...

Well, Winston is DEMANDING my attention as I have been gone most of the day...so I must go play with the fur baby.
