Clarification

It appears as though a previous post of mine may have ruffled a feather or two.  I didn't mean for my Lucky post to say that Miles is better than any other child or that I am the perfect mother, who is obviously better than you, evidenced by my perfect child.  I was just expressing joy over my sweet little butter-ball smiley baby.

Our days aren't all shiny, happy and giggle-filled (although there are more giggles than tears, for which I will always be grateful).  I have been pooped on and peed on and spit-up on and snotted on and cried on and had my hair/glasses/earrings/clothing/necklace/nose/eyeballs pulled.  Motherhood is honestly just about what I expected...I knew it wouldn't be rosy 100% of the time.  But can I tell you a secret?  Even in those moments...you know the ones...where it's 5pm and you realize that all you've done all day is feed/change/entertain/repeat this little meatball.  No shower, no meals, no house cleaning, no laundry...nothing that would be considered regular adult behavior.  You smell like stale formula and baby wipes and you're wearing the same clothes you went to bed in the previous night.  Even in those moments I am happy.  I promise.   Because you know what all that poop/pee/spit-up means??  We have a baby in our house.  We waited way too long for this experience to be upset over a little poop and tears.

Who in the world would have been offended by that post? People just need to get over themselves and just be happy for you!

YES who on earth would be offended by that post?!?!?! it is so refreshing to see a new mom do something other than complain about being a new mom. Which is what most people do. YOU are wonderful and amazing and your ability to see the greatest blessing anyone can ever have for what it is, is amazing!!!

People are far too insecure(cough) err....I mean sensitive.
Oh, and MY baby is happy all the time, doesn't cry, or even poop or pee or spit up actually. Oh wait that's her doll. Of course she does all of those things. She is a Baby. The reason We are happy is because poop and pee and crying and spit up is nothing we didn't expect. We love every second, even if its hard.

Good grief, who was offended by your Lucky post?? Seriously!

I too sometimes get the "Is motherhood everything you expected?" question. I think that for those who ask that with a hope that I will complain do so because obviously it wasn't what they expected.

Like you, I get that it's hard. I expected it to be that way and it is. But I wanted to be mom, no matter what it brought along with it. And I'm happy.

I'm glad you're happy, too. :)

If you dwell on the negative you begin to only see the negative. I love that you take so much pride and joy in all the little things your little munchkin does. That is the way it should be.
If my blog was caught up you would most likely see short little posts of big toothless grins and other little things my baby does to make me happy. Also there would be little posts about what my older kids do to make me happy. I love my kids and so that is what I am going to write about. You have every right to do the same. I like it!

I have a hard time understanding why anyone would want to make you feel guilty over finally living your dream. You have every right to focus on the good things this little guy brings to you. If we all focus on the tough stuff, we would all be so unpleasant. I love your posts about how much you are enjoying being a mom.

P.S. I really want to get together before you leave. I will talk with Brian and see when we could make it your way If that is alright with you.

I see the Dell's are on your list and not done. Maybe we could remedy that. We only go if we can find dirt cheap tickets (free) so if we find some we will let you know.

For realsies, I agree with all the previous comments. Your "Lucky" post was in no way even close to being the kind of post that would ruffle anybody's feathers.
